If you aren’t straight, white, and a guy, you don’t matter to game publishers.
A little under a year ago, I was throwing around the idea of writing about sexism in games. Just sexism. Eventually, this idea evolved into the much broader topic of discrimination and under-representation in games—not a small subject, by any means. Over the course of the months since, I wrote, scrapped, rewrote, edited, cut, re-edited, recut, rewrote, and finally completed an article that is now known as The Straight White Guy Industry, which critiques the widespread racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination, objectification, and ignorance within the video game industry and community. If you enjoy this article, please share it and join the conversation. If you don’t like this article, please share it and join the conversation.

2 step plan to writing and voice acting in video games.
1) Play any Resident Evil game. As of right now, The Darkside Chronicles is the best example. Note the design choices that were made for the game.
2) Do the exact opposite.
